• Prenuptial and postnuptial agreements: Entering into a spousal agreement prior to or during a marriage is not a prediction of divorce. You are making plans for a possible future, not forecasting the failure of your marriage. Prenuptial and postnuptial agreements define the property that is community and assets that are separate. They also address personal and financial obligations as well as spousal support, if appropriate. If your marriage should end, having such an agreement may make difficult times easier.

• Modifications: As the years pass, life changes. You could lose your job or suffer a pay cut. Your ex-spouse may earn significantly more income.  You may experience medical issues that come with significant expenses. The support you pay for your children or your ex-spouse may become a financial hardship or you may be entitled to additional child support. On your behalf, I will pursue modifications of your existing decree or court orders to reflect your present situation.

• Enforcements: The most well-drafted agreement or court order does not ensure compliance. If you are not receiving the property awarded to you, support obligations are not being met or custody agreements are not being followed, you need to take immediate action to enforce the terms of your agreement, your decree and/or the court orders.
